Institution responsible: Núcleo do Pequi – Management Group of the Pequi and Other Cerrado Fruits Chain

The project seeks to expand the commercial development of the value chain of small-scale farming and agroextractive products from enterprises that are part of the Pequi Local Production Arrangement in the North of Minas Gerais. It contributes to generating business opportunities and the sale of fresh and processed products, in addition to strengthening the local economy and improving the quality of life of participants.

The activities are expected to take place over 18 months, with the aim of expanding the markets for the commercialization of products from the sociobiodiversity of the Cerrado in the Northen region of Minas Gerais. This will enable the Local Production Arrangement products to have greater added value without the interference of intermediaries and middlemen in the commercialization chain, guaranteeing their origin through identification of provenance and traceability. The consolidation of an own brand that benefits the products of several enterprises in the network is also one of the goals of this project.

At the end of the project, products should have a more robust presence in the markets and the institutions involved in production and management should be strengthened and qualified to continue with the work of the Local Production Arrangement.
