Funbio created the “Sustainable Dialogues” initiative in 2006. What was initially a discussion with the private sector became a wider effort to muster support from the third sector and from legal specialists in tackling the challenges facing environmental projects and in capitalizing on new sources of funding, such as environmental compensation. In 2016 and 2017, the initiative rallied 250 participants across four cities: Cuiabá (Mato Grosso), Belém (Pará), Brasília (DF) and Manaus (Amazonas). In 2018, Sustainable Dialogues entered its second phase.
