Living Forest – Indigenous Lands

back

The Floresta Viva – Indigenous Lands call for proposals aims to support the implementation of ecological restoration activities and strengthen the restoration value chain within Indigenous Lands located in the states of Mato Grosso, Tocantins, and Maranhão.

Indigenous Lands play a fundamental role in biodiversity conservation, the protection of strategic ecosystems, and climate regulation in Brazil. Indigenous peoples maintain a way of life closely connected to nature, with traditional practices that have historically contributed to protecting large areas of native vegetation. The selection of these regions seeks to integrate and enhance the federal government’s ongoing fire prevention and firefighting efforts, promoting synergies with integrated fire management strategies and the restoration of degraded areas.

The call for proposals is funded by BNDES, Fundação Bunge, and Agrícola Alvorada, and will provide up to R$ 8.8 million to support up to four (4) projects.

Eligible project applicants are nonprofit organizations with the following legal structures: civil associations and private foundations, operating under various designations (institute, foundation, forum, association, movement, etc.), and cooperatives at any organizational level (primary cooperatives, central cooperatives, federations, and confederations). The applicant organization must have been legally established for at least two years.

The deadline for submitting proposals is January 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. (Brasília time), changed to: The deadline for submitting proposals is February 27, 2026.

Do not miss the opportunity to take part in this important ecological restoration initiative!
