AREMAC – Implementation of CBT

back

The subproject Implementation of CBT – Tourism is up to us carried out by the Association of the Marine Extractive Reserve of Arraial do Cabo (AREMAC) has as main objective to face the many challenges that the growth of mass tourism has brought to this Protected Area, through the implementation of CBT. This project aims to disseminate information that promotes the introspection of concepts of self-management, cooperativism, appreciation of local culture, among others, for a greater role of the community in efforts to develop local tourism. This, thus, ensures that the benefits offered by the tourist activity promote the economic and social development of the community and its culture. As specific objectives, the subproject intends to share and empower, through the dissemination of the concepts contained in CBT, the beneficiaries of the Marine Reserve, in order to collectively build practices related to small-scale fishing, its naturalistic knowledge and values that identify this community and its culture; to collectively and participatively create a community-based tourism itinerary, valuing and emphasizing the unique features of small-scale fishing, in order to be marketed to visitors and tourists of the Reserve and to equip the beneficiaries of the Reserve for an efficient management of their businesses, promoting the social and economic development of the community with the preparation of promotional pieces and publicity material and containing printed and digital price listings. At the end of the subproject, the project intendeds to produce a booklet formulated to be presented at the Assembly of the Deliberative Council containing the CBT Guidelines for the Arraial do Cabo Marine Extractive Reserve and establishment of the CBT Itinerary that provides the socioenvironmental education of visitors while promoting improvement in the income of project beneficiaries.
