Institution responsible: Association of Small Agroforestry Farmers of the RECA Project
The RENOVAR project aims to consolidate the agroforestry and forestry economy of the agroforestry farmers of the RECA project and the surrounding region, making it competitive, through the strengthening of the organization, production, processing and commercialization activities, enabling a greater increase in family income, improvement in the quality of life and preservation of the environment, providing a counterpoint to the conventional development model of slash and burn, intensive use of pesticides and extensive livestock farming.
In addition, the project’s activities aim to contribute to the renewal of approximately 150 hectares of Agroforestry Systems. Training is planned for agroforestry farmers in management actions, silvicultural and phytosanitary treatments of the Agroforestry Systems, through courses and field days, valuing the knowledge and skills of men, women and young people in the region.
The project will last a total of 18 months and will directly benefit the 150 agroforestry farmers of the RECA Project, who will have their production systems renewed and improved, increasing their productivity, offering a greater volume of raw material to agro-industries and a greater volume of products sold, providing an increase in family income, quality of life and environmental services.
