Strengthening the Local Bioeconomy: Native Fruits of the Cerrado and Community-Based Tourism

The project seeks to institutionally strengthen the association through participatory management, stimulate community-based tourism in extractive areas of the Cerrado, foster the local bioeconomy by strengthening sustainable extractivism, and create and structure marketing networks for fruits and their derivatives from extractivism in the Cerrado.

The project’s goals include: institutionally strengthening the association through a workshop on associativism; ensuring participatory management of the project; conducting a survey on the natural and cultural heritage and cooperation networks for local rural tourism; training environmental guides; structuring native fruit chains; providing training in good practices for management, processing and cooking Cerrado fruits, always considering traditional practices; offering a handicraft workshop using natural raw materials from the Cerrado (seeds, fruits, branches, etc.); preparing the association’s business plan and conducting a market study for products from extractivism; and finally, allowing the opening of markets for the distribution of products.
