back

Institution responsible: Ugorogmo Association of the Arara Indigenous People

Project Summary: The project aims to carry out activities to strengthen Indigenous Territorial Management actions in the Arara Indigenous Land. The proposal is to provide technical training for the surveillance and protection of the territory, organize actions and protocols for monitoring the entry of non-indigenous people in a coordinated manner between all seven villages (Laranjal, Magarapi-Eby, Arombi, Ieury, Tagagem, Aradó and Auri), notifying the competent bodies for command and control. The aim is also to set up a support center for surveillance with internet access in the villages, equipped with other instruments used for surveillance and territorial monitoring. An expedition will also be carried out to the boundaries of the Indigenous Land, with the aim of evaluating the entry and invasion of non-indigenous people and mapping the most vulnerable areas.
