Institution Responsible: Mulheres em Ação no Pantanal – MUPAN
The project’s objective is to support IMASUL in strengthening the Pantanal do Rio Negro State Park (PEPRN) by revising the Management Plan, developing the Integrated Fire Management Plan (IFMP), and implementing signage and fencing in specific areas. The project is carried out in partnership with UFMS, IMASUL, TerraBrasilis, RCBiota, and Fibracon.
The project will have a duration of 18 months, during which activities will be developed within three specific actions:
Revision of the Management Plan for the Parque Estadual do Pantanal do Rio Negro;
Development of the Integrated Fire Management Plan (IFMP) for the PEPRN, including the creation of an informational booklet on IFMP in the Pantanal, aimed at rural landowners and riverside communities;
Fencing and signage of the park’s boundaries, including:
- Assessment of affected areas due to the lack of fencing and signage along the 55-kilometer perimeter of Fazenda Esperança;
- Restoration of fences in priority areas, covering up to five kilometers of the park’s perimeter;
- Installation of approximately 30 signage boards (at six access points and along the river), following the guidelines established in the PA’s signage plan.
