The project aims to restore 1,700 hectares of native vegetation in the Pampa biome, as well as to develop a systematic plan for territorial management and sustainable development of the Ibirapuitã Environmental Protection Area (APA). To achieve the expected results, the project is structured around six specific objectives: 1) Raise awareness among the APA Management Council and rural landowners about the importance of the project and promote the participation of rural properties; 2) Implement restoration through integrated actions by the project team and rural landowners, using biological monitoring techniques and grassland vegetation management; 3) Establish reference units (RUs) on rural properties and along corridors (public and private roads) using management methods to restore native grassland areas with varying degrees of African lovegrass infestation within the Ibirapuitã APA; 4) Monitor the restoration process of grassland vegetation in areas under management within the RUs and corridors; 5) Develop a systematic plan for territorial management and sustainable development of the Ibirapuitã APA; 6) Conduct project oversight, dissemination, training, and knowledge exchange on the management, conservation, and restoration of native grasslands in areas degraded by African lovegrass within the RUs. This will be achieved through events, support materials, reports, and media coverage.
