The project aims to restore priority degraded areas within Caminhos dos Gerais Park. It will develop a recovery plan for these priority areas and drive forest restoration efforts by enriching 75 hectares of former eucalyptus stands and 10 hectares of riparian forest around an abandoned dam. Additionally, the project will rehabilitate a 0.4-hectare borrow area that was previously used for dam construction. A comprehensive biodiversity and soil monitoring program is also planned, spanning from the project’s inception to near its completion. This monitoring will assess vegetation, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish, insects, and soil microbiota, providing critical data to inform the park’s management plan.
